While on vacation in 2008, the founders of Eat and Play Card realized there was no single, easy way to save on vacation expenses. While coupons were often abundant, the discounts were often “piddly” and using them felt “cheap.” They were also a chore to find and often forgotten and left at the hotel. While a few discount cards were available, they offered discounts only for seniors or kids’ meals or required a large up front payment for “free” access to attractions and other activities, but, ultimately only amounted to a nominal discount off the regular gate rates. Clearly leisure travelers needed a more affordable and more effective way to save. Eat and Play Card was created to satisfy that need.
